One of the most critical features in concrete block and paver production is the uniform and precise height of the individual blocks. This is precisely why the measurement of the entirety of the board during the production process is most important. By measuring directly after forming and before the long delay of curing we can alert production staff to errors as soon as possible. The entirety of the production board is scanned without contact and with a resolution better than 0.5mm. The resulting scanned surface ranges from 20mm to 500mm above the production board, with limits set by either the line control system or the operator. For fast product changeover, there is no physical adjustment required to adjust to varying product heights.

With an IP67 camera and self-contained light source, there is no need for special preparations to install over the production line. The addition of an encoder to the conveyance system allows for consistent surface scanning with varying speed conveyors for the most stable results.

Effective and clear visualization allows for fast evaluation by the operator of the quality of the product and identification of problem areas for adjustment of the production process. With pass/fail and heightmap views available, the operator has the most up to date information available to ensure quality product at the output of the process. A history view allows for evaluation of process consistency as well.
